Finishing Stuff UP!! « »

I’m feeling pretty accomplished today. Over the weekend, I finished several things that had deadlines.

Here’s a little hint of one of them. This is for Knitscene:

I’m not showing whole pictures of this stuff, because I *know* you. When you finally see them in the wild, you say, “Tsk! That was on her BLOG!” (Don’t worry, I do the same thing.)

And then there was one other pattern that I know you’ll die when you see. You’ll say, “Is that by OUR Stefanie?” And that’s all I’m sayin’. It’s a departure from my norm. But it’s not out till like Winter 07-08, so you’ll forget by then.

Saturday we got our bikes out and rode around a while. We went to the University Art Museum. They’re showing the African Art collection of a former professor there. Then, Nate had to go ride his bike on over to the shop for a tuneup. Something about the tension on the rear derailer. He just got a really cute 10-speed on eBay. It’s perfect…’cept for that derailer.

It was a really nice day. Art show, bike riding, finishing up of the knits. I can’t really remember what we did on Sunday. Usually we just each hole up in our individual spaces and try to squeeze every drop of free time out of the remaining few seconds of the weekend.

I did no emailing this weekend, and have been signed out of Google Talk since Friday night. I’m just sorta in a mood. Not a *bad* mood, per se, just sorta (*Sigh*).

Is everyone already all excited for TNNA??? Just 3 months and a couple weeks away! I’m teaching a CLASS!!

I moved! I used to live in Bawlmer, but then moved to Germany and now live in New Mexico! In some part of my brain, Baltimore is home, though.

    Loved it.

TNNA is a big trade show. “The National Needle Arts” convention. Lots of knitting-related companies have booths or tables of their wares, hoping that knitting shops will place orders to carry the stuff for the next season.

There are classes and book signings and parties. The attendees are mostly yarn store owners. Designers also go, to talk to the book/magazine people and to the yarn companies. It’s really fun.

Hello! I can’t find an email address so I am posting my question about the Elizabeth Bennett Cabled Cardigan in Fitted Knits here. The pattern specs call for 18 balls of Cascade Cloud 9 for the 36 inch size, which is 1962 yards. I thought that sounded like a lot so I compared to other cabled cardigan patterns of similar gauge and none of them come even close. Is it possible that there is a misprint on the yarn requirements for this pattern? Thanks in advance - I love the book and can’t wait to start a new project from it!

Which class are you teaching at TNNA? I’ll be there, so I might try to sign up.

Hi Stef ~ I am eagerly awaiting my copy of “Fitted Knits” - keep those designs coming!

I’ll have to find out where exactly and when you’re coming to KY - I’m in IN, can make the ride down to say Hello.
