Dang, that’s cute!
Beautiful. I’m actually considering frogging a sweater I’m working on right now and using that yarn for Bluebell. I wish I had more hands…..
That is super super cute!
Love it! I guess that yarn is a good sub even though it’s DK? I saw a pretty pink in the DK I really like!!!
That’s one of mfavorite sweaters from the book - I love it!
And it looks great around here! Love the new look of your website.
As the knitter of the posted sweater, I really appreciate all the nice comments. Though Stephanie gets all of the credit for a fabulous and easy-to-follow design!
Mikki, I thought the felted tweed was a great sub… but I was only convinced after washing the finished sweater and letting it felt for a bit in the dryer. Right off the needles, the stitches looked a bit loose/thin. I used a size 7 needle (instead of
in order to make gauge.
The other modification I made was to the neckline. I am not sure whether it was the cast-on method I used (long tail) or if I just did not cast on tightly enough, but the neckline ended up being really loose — almost dropping off my shoulders. I ended up frogging and re-knitting the neckband as two purl bars with decreases to tighten up the neckline. Maybe this could all have been avoided by using cable cast-on. Something future knitters of the bluebell may want to consider.
It looks so good, I want to start my very own right now.
