« Hello Again! Seven Random Things About Me »
Well, maybe not the NEWS, but Glampyre Knits has been getting some press lately!
Firstly, I picked up the newest issue of Adorn Magazine over the weekend, and Fitted Knits is given a very warm review!

Secondly, Yahaira (who is for some reason /wink-wink/ scoping out the bride websites) pointed out that the Minisweater was April’s featured project on DIY bride.
This explains why a few people have emailed me about knitting wedding dresses! I was thinking, “I know it’s spring, but this is sure a lot of wedding dress emails.”

PS: My Knitty Gritty episode will be airing again on June 19 at 2pm Eastern.

Hi Stephanie: your book should get very good press indeed. I just got it the other day and between all of these great patterns and the No Sheep book it is increasingly difficult to get to work in the morning…!
A query for you /anyone else about the long fitted tunic with the “Morse Code” pattern… (sorry - can’t recall the name, but it was knitted in a moss green). I’m thinking of trying to convert the pattern into a swing skirt style using short row shaping at the bottom. I am 5′1″ and my thoughts were to knit the max length then add onto it (I’d like a finished length of between 31 and 33 inches or thereabouts. Any thoughts/tips?
Kristina,
Thanks so much! I’m glad you’re enjoying the book!
The top: It’s knit side to side, so unless you’re thinking of just adding a wider band to the bottom, all of the lengthening will have to be done in the knitting of the garment itself.
Thanks, Stefanie! I love the side-to-side knitting and have made a couple of tops previously. I’m going to try to make the basic tunic shape then add some short rows after for an A-line skirt (which I have done recently with some success… ). If there is a KAL for your book I’ll post it when done!
Cheers,
Kristina
ooh, that sounds cool! I’d love to see the pics!
