« I’m so lucky! My sister’s in town! Hi from TNNA! »

I’ve become one of them. « »

Today I told someone who REALLY doesn’t care about a bodily function, and saw immediately on her face that…I’ve become one of these pregnant ladies who talk about being pregnant.

I’m just so amazed by every little thing! I can’t help it!

I’ll try to keep the blog free of the gory details…but I can’t promise anything.

It’s really taking up amazingly large amounts of brain space. Daydreaming, “what-if”-ing, planning, writing on the calendar…

I keep thinking about how great this baby will be for reducing my yarn stash! All the old eBay 4-ball lot purchases! All the precious things that there just isn’t enough of for a whole BIG thing! All of the 1-ball TNNA samples! OMG, this is so awesome. I’m picturing sweaters, hats, socks, blankets, toys.

The problem, though, is that it doesn’t really get that yarn out of my HOUSE.

I’m turning the yarn room into the baby’s room…so it sort of re-purposes both the space *and* the clutter that currently fills the space…

Am I just trying to get out of getting rid of yarn!?

OH! You may have seen this, but check out all of the knitting books on Amazon that are around $5 right now!!

I’ve checked “Knit 2 Together” out of the library, and it’s worth the $5. That’s the only one of those that I have, though.

Welcome to the club, and becoming one of ‘us’.

Wait until you start telling complete strangers about poopy diapers and spit up! ;)

Dude, I must have *totally* missed the post about you being pregnant! Congrats, Stef!

I thought that my body was so amazing (in a functional way) when I was preggers. Like it had been waiting to do this miraculous transformation and finally could start to work fully.
Crazy! It is a good time… enjoy it!

    Congratulations on the baby!

the whole “telling people about bodily functions” is indeed a pregnancy symptom :)

    Congratulations!

When I was pg with my first (I’m working on the 2nd right now), I was WAAAAY too tired and anxious to think about what to do with the Stash. It’s good you’ve been able to keep your head about. :)

Ooh - and this: you’ll find many more lots of yarn that now are SO tempting to purchase, because you don’t need to have enough for a full-size sweater! The possibilities for even single balls of yarn are endless! (Make lots of room!)

I STILL talk about being pregnant. Ok my youngest is only a year, but now I never stop talking about my kids either!

    And pregnancy is amazing.

This is only the beginning of oversharing. Just go with it. It gets weirder and weirder (and cooler and cooloer) from here.

Holy wow! What, and you didn’t announce to the FL? We’re, like, wounded or something… ;)

CONGRATS! See you soon, and don’t worry, you can “bore” us all you want… YAY!

Please feel free to talk about being knocked up - it’s the coolest experience ever. When I was pregnant last summer, I was surprised to see there are virtually no patterns out there for maternity tops…maybe you’ll design one??

Congrats on the pregnancy! You are going to be a great mom; and it will change your life- so get ready! And I know that baby is going to have the cutest knitted gear!

It doesn’t end with pregnancy. I have a 9 month old and a few days ago when she was asleep, my husband and I had a very involved conversation about baby poop and poop schedules. I’d like to think of that as rock bottom. :-)

There are far far worse things, like becoming a cat lady. Your pregnancy has totally upstaged the fact I have new plant :) . Not that it shouldn’t ;D.

Congratulations!! It DOES become a constant obsession-and it gets worse the farther along you get! My husband is still aghast that I can strike up a conversations with other moms i don’t know about breastfeeding! My DD is now 7 months and atleast for alittle while-and she refuses to let me knit that much! I hope yours does! Im working on your spicey fitted t-shirt now! Love the book!

Congratulations! I’m a red headed knitter originally from Iowa, too. I recently found out that my husband and I are expecting as well. Too weird!

    Stefanie,

I became a first time grandmother on January 9, 2007. Congrtatulations to you and Nathan and to the grandparents of this sweet new baby. Oh, the fun you will have!

    Best wishes,

    Carolyn from your Unravel class.

Yes, welcome to the club! From my experience, the stories get better as you get further along in your pregnancy. Wait until people start saying irritating things like “You haven’t had that kid yet - You look like you’re going to POP any day”…UMMMM sure, because that’s what happens when a baby is born..WHAT?! Anywho, I digress! It’s a great club to belong to!

I’m with you . . . somehow my knitting blog has become a knitting/pregnancy-things-people-don’t-want-to-know-but-you-must-share-because-it-consumes-your-life blog. Really, you can’t help it — even the unpleasant things about pregnancy are exciting and wonderful because you know you’ll end up with a beautiful baby. I must have somehow missed the fact that you’re having a baby — congratulations!!!
