Hang in there! When I was carrying my youngest last summer I became familiar with sciatica--totally sucks. As if pregnany waddling isn't enough siatica adds a hobble to that new giddyup. I'd look into a leachco pregnancy pillow--it really saved me!

Very weird coinsidence: I went for a new patient physical on Monday to a doctor known for being EXTREMELY thorough. She had a med student with her, and so, during the exam, she would address the student a lot and point things ot and have her try things. At any rate, she nonchalantly pointed out the slight scoliosis in my spine to the student! I am 31 and never heard that I had scoliosis before! Weird. Must be going around.

MM-- She DID say that one of my legs looked longer than the other one...and that the curve might have started in compensation for that.

I'll say it again...the body is a weird and wonderful thing...

Part of the scoliosis thing, if they didn't tell you this already, is your height. Being a fellow tall girl with scoliosis they said that for some reason tall women are more likely to have scoliosis. They don't have a reason for it, so it is what it is. With your hips being so out of whack, you sciatica is much more susceptible to problems. Also, you might want to ask them about leg length. Due to the scoliosis and just genetics, there is a very good possibility of a leg length discrepancy.
Look at me, sounding like a doctor! I only know this stuff because I have it! Anyway, take care of yourself!!! ~MM

I have almost exactly the same spine issues, except that I have two separate areas with scoliosis. I only learned about it a year ago, when I was 36. I've been seeing a chiropractor ever since, and the changes in my spine are incredible (he takes x-rays every four months, so I've been able to watch my spine move). I feel so much better. I never realized how many little pains I had before until they went away.

Glad to hear you are feeling better. Definitely weird to be evaluated like that--hopefully the wedge ( and future visits with actual therapy) will help keep the pain at bay in the long run. Take care.
