« Physical Therapy: Update MEATBALL SUB »
Tonight was knitting night.

I finished a pair of baby booties from Zoe Mellor’s 50 baby bootees to knit.
They’re the “slip ons” pattern from page 117. This book has some really cute, really over the top things. These are the most simple ones, and for some reason they’re the ones that appealed most to me this evening.
Because I know myself well enough to know that if I wait till tomorrow to take a daylight photo I’ll never do it. So I took non-flash-under-the-incandescent-bulb photos.

The yarn is Reynolds Whiskey. Color 101, which is a heathered orange-yellow. I LOVE this color. It’s happy, bright, and goes with red hair! So when I hold the baby, its feet will look good on me. (I know, cray-zeee.) Whiskey is a great all-purpose wool, and will be really warm for teeny baby feet. My due date’s January 20…so I need lots of woolens.

Just what I’d do. Make sure my baby matches me. Love it.
Very cute! I love that book, I got it a few years ago and a lot of it IS over the top, but it’s all adorable.
Also, January 20th is my birthday! You think you’ll need woolens? I was born in a snowstorm!
How cute are those!!! I’m going to have to make some for my mommy-to-be friend in SD!!
I love that color for babies! My son was born in April & our next is due 1/22. I’m so excited to knit tiny tiny little woolie knits!
super cute!
i just made a pair of booties from that book too - i went with the ankle-strap booties… an attempt to actually keep the booties ON the wee feet!
baby knitting is the best - quick, small and sweet, and always, always cute.
congratulations on your baby-to-be!
Those are so cute! Simple is good, I think. And the color rocks — perfect for a boy or a girl. The fact that it matches your hair really does seal the deal.
I’m all for color-coordinating your baby to yourself. After all, you’ll be carrying him or her everywhere with you, even more than your purse!
Baby booties are so much fun to knit. I just finished a design for baby MaryJanes and baby Chuck Taylor All-stars that are way too cute. I loke knitting baby things!
Ya know what? It makes perfect sense to make baby clothes that will look good on YOU.
I have a friend that never dressed her babies in those icky “baby colours”: pale pink, pale blue and that horrid “neutral” light mint green.
She was/is an auburn-haired beauty and dressed her babies in the same colours that looked smashing on her.
The booties are beautiful. And so shall you both be.
: )
I love those little booties - they look so squishy and perfect for new feet.
Great color for booties! I’m expecting a baby boy in Sept. and I try to get non-traditional colors.
On Pregnancy: I’m sorry about the morning sickness. I feel your pain really. Sour candies and ginger candies helped me alot. And for back pain (esp. lower) I’ve found that keeping hydrated is key and staying regular (load up on the fiber). Good luck and please keep posting about baby progress, it can get lonely for us pregnant women w/ non-pregnant friends.
