« Baby Bog Jacket Mailbag Thursday!! »
I think it turned out pretty well. The yarns certainly look GREAT! I really love that the visual interest is totally amped by the combination of garter stitch and verigated handspun.
People are going to want to eat our kid for breakfast when (s)he’s in this sweater!
STATS:
Pattern: Bog Jacket from Elizabeth Zimmermann’s Knitting Around.
Size: 24″ chest
Yarn: Spincycle Yarns handspun 100% merino in [MC] Booya Kasha [CC] Lummi Island Sunset
Needle: US7(4.5mm)
Mods: shortened the body, added the optional shoulder shaping, only did the applied i-cord along the fronts.
Things I’d do differently: hold the RS together when kitchnering up the pieces…holding WS together created a knit row where I’d have preferred a purl row. remember to incorporate buttonholes into the applied i-cord.

BEAUTIFUL! The colors/yarn what an excellent choice.
THANK YOU! I can’t stop looking at it, myself! I totally credit the yarn/pattern for this one. AND…I didn’t even choose the CC myself…the girls at Spincycle added that color. They are awesome.
I love the cat! He/she looks like s/he’s going to swallow the entire ball of yarn. The colors are excellent though.
Hi Stefanie. I just wanted to drop you a line as a little hello and intro. I actually know your sister-in-law Kim and her hubby Joe from IA. I lived there up until a few years ago and met Kim (and Joe) thru a mutual friend. Kim and I used to chat about her “sister-in-law who knitted” but it took me a while to figure out that “sister-in-law” was Stefanie Japel of Glampyre Knits! I just thought it was so cool that the author of one of my daily reads turned out to be the sister-in-law of a friend. Kind of a 7 degrees of seperation thing. So just thought I’d say hello! I love your blog and congrats on the baby!

The cat is actually just yawning, but it looks so much like she’s about to take a bite of the booya.
Emma! How cool that you know Joe and Kim! Joe is my husband’s older brother. What a small world!!
Those colors are really beautiful. Yours is going to be the best dressed baby on the planet.
Stefanie, that sweater is gorgeous!!! great job. and I love the cat pic!
Beautiful! Love the non-traditional colors, and the handspun looks gorgeous in the pattern. EZ is great for baby knits.
That is one rad baby bog. I have to say the handspun really makes it look amazing. Won’t your little babe be the coolest thing around!
