I live in canada and in here we have a store name THYME that only sale maternity clothes. I don’t know if you have that in USA but you can check the website. It’s not cheap but it looks good and it fits well

American Apparel- the best part is that its so stretchy you can wear it early and still as you are growing- I have been LIVING in the ‘high waisted skirt’ since about week 10, and now at week 21 I’m really showing and its still the most comfortable thing I can find. Also Gap and Old Navy Maternity is pretty comfortable, the sales are really cheap and most importantly I find its true to my pre-pregnancy size but for us tall girls the Old Navy is TOO SHORT (boo hiss) in the pants.

For some reason I couldn’t leave a comment on your site yesterday so this is a little late. I wanted to let you know that Gap.com has a pretty decent maternity section. You can order your pants in different lengths too — which was a blessing for me since I’m short. Their maternity pants come in ankle, regular and tall lengths. They also have a pretty good return policy. You can take stuff back to the store even if you ordered it online. I lived out — and still wear! — my Gap maternity pants.

I’ve never been pregnant (its a long loooong way off as I’m still in college) But I am 6′ tall, I noticed that gap.com offers maternity jeans in classic cuts and washes in long sizes (34″-35″ inseam) They’re long sizes are usually the perfect length for me at 6′. Happy hunting!

P.S. Fitted knits is amazing… I’ve hoarded the yarn to make about 5 of your sweaters. Thank you so much!

Pretty much the only In Person stores in my whole town with maternity clothes are: Target, Wal-Mart, Ross Dress for Less, and K-Mart. There’s a mall, and there’s a store called Melrose in it that has maternity clothes, but they’re pretty much flowered polyester.

SO…I’m doing my share of eBay, shopping online, and trying to decide whether I can really teach a college course while wearing stretch pants. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see how big I really do get and just buy stuff when I need it.

One big problem is that pre-pregnancy, I’m a 12-14, so there’s no “going up a size.”

Hear hear! Maternity shopping is miserable- the best thing I have found is American Apparel- especially the “high waisted skirt” a few sizes bigger then pre-pregnancy size… I’m 5 months now and trying to imagine what 8/9 months is going to look like…

I, I’m 15 weeks pregnant and i’m facing the same thing as you are. I was wondering if the shirt you’re knitting is your personnal design or someone else. I’m searching for one I can knit but with a gauge that is big enough so that it won’t take me the whole pregnacy to finish. By the way, it look great already.

I live in New York it’s pretty easy to find great maternity clothes here, luckily. I mostlly shopped at H&M’s maternity section or a store called Motherhood, try those, good luck.

I feel your pain. I’ve bought very few ‘actual’ maternity clothes. I did buy some maternity shorts and a denim skirt from old navy and a swimsuit from motherhood maternity (i love it!), but other than that I’ve been able to wear normal clothes that have a LOT of give. Luckily baggy tunics are all the rage in Tokyo and combining them with leggings is super comfortable. Comfortable and simple jeans are hard to find and are pretty uncomfortable for me now anyway. I’ve also found some men’s shorts that are comfortable and maybe just buying a size up from what you normally wear and using the belly band for jeans might be an option!! Can’t wait to see your maternity jacket pattern!!
