This is a gorgeous piece whether you're pregnant or not! I'm neither pregnant nor nursing, but as an advocate for nursing I think it would be a great piece that would make you feel very comfortable/modest if you had to nurse in public. Is this one of your patterns - how might I get my hands on this? Continued luck with the pregnancy.

Thanks for all the comments/suggestions on the top, Moms!!

I've finished up the pattern, it just needs to be tested, and then I'll release it. I've been looking at pregnancy mags and getting lots of ideas for things!!

I think my pregnancy "wardrobe" such as it is is coming together. I needed a few things to teach in, and I think I found what I need.

The rest I'll just acquire as I go...from what you've said, it's hard to know at this point what will be comfortable in a few months.

I might be a person who carries close to my body or someone who gets really h-u-g-e...or my temp might run reeeeally hot...or not. You just don't know!

Anyway...thanks so much again for all the suggestions, here and by email and ravelry!

I think this top is great for both maternity wear and nursing clothes. I didn't knit until after my son was weaned, but I would have loved something like this. Before I became a mom I would have thought you nursed a baby by unbuttoning your shirt from the top down, but I was wrong...you totally need things you can slip the baby under, so this would be perfect.

Love that color! As for the "almost halfway there" thing--tell me if you still feel that way when your eighth month goes on for a year and a half...

Just kidding. You look absolutely wonderful.

Very nice. I think it would be flattering on not just baby bumps but tummy bumps in general.

Anything you can either unbutton or lift up is good for nursing. It will provide a ilttle shelter for you while you're feeding, which is always a good thing!

As far as maternity wear and such like goes, I don't know if you have H&M in the US but they were the only place over here in the UK that I could find maternity wear that actually fitted and was ocmfy. Plus they do breastfeeding tops with little flaps and things so you can keep your dignity AND breastfeed.

Lovely! I have no experience whatsoever, but it does seem like it would be perfect for nursing. I also like the way it sort of "frames" the belly.
