So, Ok…I’m totally addicted to my baby. I know that sounds rediculous, and it probably is. But I can think of nothing else.

To help assuage this feeling of urgency in regard to “getting ready” I keep something baby on the needles at all times.

Here’s the most recent Baby Thing:

pickypants

It’s a pair of “Picky Pants.” (Another soaker.) For this one, I used Theresa’s pattern and followed it to the T. The pattern is like a choose your own adventure novel, in that it’s 18 pages long…and after completing one step you decide whether to add some feature (short rows in the seat) or another (long or short legs, different hem treatments.) I’ll definitely make these again! (Yarn is Cascade 220 tweed.)

And here’s the most recent Baby Thing from Mom:

malabrigo baby

It’s a sweater from Jill Eaton’s “Minnies” baby book, with another set of handmade buttons. CUTE. This one is Malabrigo worsted!!

I LOVE cloth diapering! I was so sad when my son’s skin reacted to the wool and we had to use pockets instead of fitteds/prefolds & wool covers. I’m hoping the currently-baking babe handles wool better, especially since I have the feeling it’s a girl and I have a pair of shorties with a skirt attached nearly finished :)

Oh! I am absolutely in love with Malabrigo after “meeting” it a couple months ago… *yum* And your picky pants are, well, perfect! I find myself preferring the shorties to soakers & other covers — start hunting for t-shirts now, though, it’s hard to find ones that aren’t “onesies.”

I think it’s totally OK to be addicted to the baby. Completely natural, actually. ;)

This is a bit off-subject, but I just wanted to let you know that I bought Fitted Knits yesterday (FINALLY) and never in my life have I so coveted the sweaters in a knitting book. They are absolutely stunning and made my fingers positively itch to get started! Thank you so much for designing such beautiful garments!

Amber…you totally recognize it! I need to get that pattern OUT! Jeez.

I’m luck to have a mom that knits! Too bad I take such blurry pics of her hard work!

I’ve used that soaker pattern a million times and I really, really like it. Especially with the short rows and increases option. Those cloth diaper butts are big! Your little soaker and sweater are just darling!

I am addicted to my baby, too! 19 weeks now, only 7 items knitted for him/her so far!!! I am intrigued by the diapers, had no idea about handmade diapers OR knitted covers– I will definitely be looking into them! I love your patterns (favorite thing I’ve knitted for myself– sleeveless turtleneck from Fitted Knits) and hope that you will have a baby pattern book in the future!!
