Ten Little Fattycakes open

A few more diapers…these are all size “small.” Some are considered “all in ones”, some are just “fitteds.” The fabrics are “Minky” chenille, polar fleece, PUL, bamboo velour, and all have terry cloth for the inners.

I didn’t use the serger on these, because I can’t quite figure it out. The sewing shop offers some free classes that I need to take. THEN I’ll get serging!

Yesterday, Nate, Mom, and I totally cleaned out the garage. We’re getting a new washer/dryer (for all the baby clothes) and the dryer has to go in the garage. So we took EVERYTHING out and reorganized and put it all back in. We can actually walk in there now! And there’s plenty of room for the dryer. We did it all in under 3 hours! It still amazes me. It was a total sitcom garage, where you open the door and all the boxes fall out.

It feels great to get rid of half a garage full of junk! The next thing is to get the baby’s room organized. I’m planning to start that next weekend.

Being behind in everything is an awful feeling, so deadlines have been moved and things rearranged to make (almost) everyone happy. And I am SO relieved. It’s weird how sometimes when you’re in it, you can’t see the easiest solution!

Okay, now I don’t feel so bad. You , who can do anything, need lessons on the serger. I had mine for TWO years before I was brave enough to tackle it. All that different rhread??? Mine was the world’s largest bookend for the longest. I do hope you find lessons soon, I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

I’m am so glad I didn’t see those diapers when I was pregnant. I would have really wanted to make them, but my sewing skills are sadly lacking. I did make a big batch of flannel wash clothes that I love.

BTW I had good luck with Kiss My Face Liquid Rock deodorent, nothing else worked.

Gorgeous diapers! My poor boy’s dipes are a bit ragged since they are all hand-me-downs. The serger is so nice & quick, but I’ve never been able to master inside curves without disengaging the cutter blade. If you figure out a way around that, let me know!

I’ve been reading your blog for a while and loving it. I am totally intrigued with the diapers! I don’t know if you or someone else is going to be knitting you some bibs but I have a free bib pattern you might be interested in. I call it the Button Knot Bib. It converts to a cloth for the kitchen or bath and toy (!) after baby has grown out of the need for a bib. Check it out!

Congrats on using cloth diapers! If you go to www.mothering.com you can probably find links for gently used. I loved the all-in-ones (like what it appears you’re making) but the Chinese prefolds and the Snappi or prefolds and ProWrap covers were the cheapest and most convenient way for me to go.

Lots of knit soaker patterns on the web, too.
