Thank you for posting Hannah’s finished coat on your site.  I am very partial to the tweed version but it looks equally as well in a solid color.

Many knitters often overlook working in stitch pattern during shaping because someone else created the pattern.  I have been practicing a few techniques from a new book,  “Seven Things that can Make or Break a Sweater” written by Margaret E. Fisher.  She mentions the importance of shaping to create a smooth neckline within a busy stitch pattern.  Short row wrapping for knit and purl is discussed in “Teach Yourself Visually Knitting,” I consider these books to be reference resources.  I agree that working through the project will help everyone understand shaping the collar in stitch pattern.  There are times when we knitters persevere until something clicks!
