Uh oh, Mama’s got a new lens « »

On Miriam’s recommendation, I bought a new 50mm lens. So far, I think it’s wonderful!

Here are some knits…don’t they look so much more mysterious and intriguing in short focal length? The background just disappears.

This is a vest that I originally knit for my book, but which now really doesn’t go along with the text. SO…it’s just a vest. Not a BOOK vest. In Cascade 220 Tweed. I’d try it on for you, but it’s a fitted knit, with waist shaping that exactly matched my curves before I was 26 weeks pregnant.

NOT a book vest

Here’s a sweater in progress knit in Interlacements Yarns Oregon Worsted II in color 411. We decided to go back to Iowa for a week this winter, and I would like to have a handknit sweater that fits over my belly. I’ve got a lot of knitting to do for the book, so we’ll see if that dream comes true.

And here’s my Mazie. She’s not feeling well today…runny nose and rosy cheeks. We go to the doctor this afternoon. We were able to find her a flu shot, but not an h1n1 vaccine. Cross your fingers for us?

Mazie doesn't feel well.

Poor little thing. I hope she isn’t too sick.

I like that orange and grey combo! One of my favorite color pairings.

Love the color of the interlacements yarn! =)

Hope Mazie gets better soon! Poor little one. =(

About the H1N1…my toddler got his first one today. Our county health department held a clinic at our fairgrounds. If you haven’t you can try contacting your local county health department. (I’m in IN, not sure in AZ is the same). Also, you could try this site: http://www.flu.gov/ There is a flu shot locator on there. Good luck! I hope both you and Mazie are able to get the vaccine. I was so relieved that Danny was able to get one (well at least the first one. Hopefully we’ll get lucky again in 30 days or so for the last one). Just be sure to get there early if there is a clinic. We waited outside in the cold for about an hour (and another hour in line inside the building!) and we got there a half hour before it opened. At least we were inside before it started pouring out! Anyways, I’ll stop rattling on =) Good luck! =)
